Film Transitions
Film transitions are the ways film producers put the clips together, even before another film editing.
Film transitions are used because they are the way a film moves from one scene to the next. It also conveys the finer details of a story, such as an idea, for example, time flow or tone. Film transitions can be done with a pause, cut, dissolve, jump cuts, etc.
Some examples of a video transition would be the straight cut, A-B cut, fades, etc.
With sound, a video transition could appear smoother, connecting the two clips. In conjunction with film transitions, J and L cuts are done and keep a sense of continuity.
