Camera for third film
I will be using a GoPro camera as well as an iPhone 11 camera.
5 Benefits of using both
iPhone 11
1) 3 cameras are available, with two on the back and one in the front. Generally, I use the back cameras to film the landscape and setting, and it is also used for different zooms.
2) Wide screen allows you to easily see what is being filmed, front and back. Well, it is always nice to exactly see the resolution and what is being filmed.
3) Different lens zoom, up to 5x and .5x. Allows for more interesting shots. .5x is used well with landscape and closeups, to provide some interesting effects on the border of the video.
4) Highly portable, especially because I am not filming in one location.
5) Easy video transfer, using only a USB charger to plug into a computer and copy files.
GoPro
1) Waterproof. I love filming water scenes, and since I am going to film a certain portion of the film by a lake, I can be daring when it comes to angles around that area without worrying about it falling into the water and dying.
2) Incredibly high-quality footage. Good for outdoor scenes.
3) Stabilizes video with included accessories. Good for movement and otherwise shaky sequences.
4) Much smaller than an iPhone, square and sturdy casings allow stable placement without having to be held or propped up well.
5) Detailed and customizable settings, such as frame rate, vignette, brightness, resolution, etc. Cool effects that could be done without the use of premiere pro.
Restrictions of both
iPhone 11
- Difficult to prop up in desirable areas.
- (Potentially) Low storage space, especially for longer high-quality videos.
- Not Waterproof
- Poorer quality in very bright outdoor settings
GoPro
- SD storage cards may be difficult to transfer to a computer without the right devices and hardware.
- Small screen makes it difficult to view what is being filmed during a recording
