Problems with Few Companies and Media Ownership.

Image
 1. Advertisement is a lucrative business, and with the recent state of the media to a wide public, it has made its way to be the backbone and face of the media.  The media we consume is heavily influenced by money, and advertisement has become the main source of promotion, although with different faces. Convergences in toys, in movies, in games, and in synergy are just some of the ways a product, in this case, a video game, makes it way, knowingly or unknowingly, into your mind to be bought. Films and games are trending on a path in which money is more important than the artistical or cultural value they provide. This has become more apparent with fewer and fewer companies holding control over the outlets of media we have access to.  Conglomerates is the term used to describe a company holding control over many smaller, independent companies or businesses. These accurately describe the current state of the biggest companies, such as Disney, Nintendo, Google, Apple, and m...

Importance of Pre-Production

Image
Like any kind of preparation, pre-production is the vital first segment of film production, allowing a smooth plan of action before actually creating anything by keeping you on track. There are steps to pre-production as well, such as creating a script, allocating a budget, hiring actors, editors, equipment, locations, licenses, shot lists, and also storyboards. A script is a written description of each scene, specifically focused on dialogue. A budget and license allow for filming properly and provide boundaries. Actors and editors help create the visuals of the film. Equipment and locations allow for the highest quality filming. Shot lists and storyboards allow a direct plan of action and are the first visual aspect of a film before production.                                              Example of a simple storyboard A storyboard or treatment is esse...

Camera for third film

Image
I will be using a GoPro camera as well as an iPhone 11 camera.  5 Benefits of using both iPhone 11  1) 3 cameras are available, with two on the back and one in the front. Generally, I use the back cameras to film the landscape and setting, and it is also used for different zooms. 2) Wide screen allows you to easily see what is being filmed, front and back. Well, it is always nice to exactly see the resolution and what is being filmed. 3) Different lens zoom, up to 5x and .5x. Allows for more interesting shots. .5x is used well with landscape and closeups, to provide some interesting effects on the border of the video. 4) Highly portable, especially because I am not filming in one location.  5) Easy video transfer, using only a USB charger to plug into a computer and copy files.  GoPro 1) Waterproof. I love filming water scenes, and since I am going to film a certain portion of the film by a lake, I can be daring when it comes to angles around that area without...
